At the foot of the beautiful mediaeval village of Lugnano in Teverina, which originated as a castle on a high isolated hill, disputed between Todi, Orvieto and Amelia, where we find fine noble residences, such as the Palazzo Ridolfi-Farnese (16th century), now the Town Hall, and the collegiate church of S. Maria Assunta, one of the most significant Romanesque buildings in Umbria, stands the Covento di San Francesco. Maria Assunta, one of the most significant Romanesque buildings in Umbria, stands the Covento di San Francesco built in 1229 on the same site where in 1212 the saint had performed a miracle, depicted in the 14th-century fresco, still preserved in the church, in which Francis himself is seen freeing a child bitten by a wolf from a duck. In 1608, the elegant cloister was built, adorned with a series of elegant travertine columns and frescoes depicting the life of St Francis. In 1680, the bell tower was built in Baroque style, which can still be admired today. In this marvellous context, we are selling a renovated and furnished apartment of about 70 sqm, comprising a living room with kitchenette and two small terraces, a bedroom, a small bedroom, a bathroom with shower and a cellar. Common facilities include a beautiful swimming pool, tennis court, bocce court, laundry room, and barbecue area. The location, thanks to the proximity of motorways and railways, makes it possible to visit other important historical and cultural centres in Umbria and Tuscany and Rome itself in less than an hour’s drive.
